Hi all, I am in the process of re-assembling a New Performance SM & I have come across a puzzling problem. On the main gear lever (which has been off, cleaned & reinstalled along with the selector cover), there is very little lateral movement. The selector goes into the 1st/2nd slot correctly but if I put it into the 3rd/ reverse slot too vigorously, it jams in the slot & the lever requires a sharp smack to release it back towards the 1st/ 2nd side. The gears select perfectly otherwise. The selector rod guide from the main lever was broken & from the injuries around the main lever mounting hole, an epic battle has taken place in the past. My inclination is to grind a little off the selector lever square but I'm concerned this may cause other issues as there doesnt seem to be anything preventing it going too far into the 3rd/ reverse slot. The steering box & hi/ low selector housing are not installed yet. Any suggestions??
