FFCN linkage detail

Post by Billy26F5 »

Hi all,
Sorry to introduce a problem on the FFCN.
The linkage page classifies this
Image
as a Super Major bracket. This is actually the heavy duty Major type, as seen here on Billy (Not very visible).
Image
Image
The Super Major brackets have more clearance to allow the shackles to be attached in the short position.
This knuckle
Image
is a Super type, although the part never changed.
Super Major dual category lower links used a combined clip and safety chain bracket.
Sorry about this.

Sandy,
Don't know if I understand it all right.

When I look at the picture of the parts list the check chaine bracket from the Super has 4 mounting holes and two holes for the chain. When I understand you right you say it has to have three holes and two chain holes. Like the Power model. Is that correct?
What makse the bracket on the picture a heavy duty one?

The knuckel of the left side of the New Major and the Power Major is the same as on both sides of the Super an NP Super Major as far as I know.
Kind regards, Henk

Not quite.
All Super brackets have four holes, but they can mount the two hole shackles in two positions without having the bracket fowling the short position. The part number for it is a DDN. The bracket on the FFCN page doesn't provide clearance for a two position shackle in the short position, the shape of the bracket is also slightly different. The part number is a DKN.
Any bracket with four mounting holes is a heavy duty one, being standardised with the Super Major. Two hole Super brackets are rare to spite them being in the parts books.
You're right about the knuckle, but the picture is actually a Super one.

Just found another pic (an old one) of the bracket (Heavy duty type).
Image
Note the bitsa check chain, the location of the rear axle casting code and the wrong lower link (the original one's ball comes out, hence the large washers visible in other pics of Billy).

Sandy,

I have changed the text at the FFCN page. Please check it and feel free to tell needed adjustments.

As for the part numbers of the brackets the parts list has several numbers.

I found:
E1ADKN-995179-A Replaces E1ADKN-995179-B
E1ADKN-995179-B Use with Industrial tractor
E1ADKN-995179-C Use with Industrial tractor
E1ADDN-995179-A Replaces E1ADKN-995179-B
All R.H. 995180 stands for L.H
At the Super Major list the only have DDN numbers.

So it's a bit confusing.
Kind regards, Henk

Hi Henk,
E1ADKN-995179A is the std Major and Power Major bracket
Image
E1ADKN-995179B is the heavy duty Major and Power Major bracket
Image
Image
E1ADDN-995179A is the Super Major bracket (NP included), this one took the place occupied by the previous two.
Image
Image
995180 on the other side.
My pics are't brilliant though.
I'll post a better one tomorrow.

Here's some better pics of the Super Major bracket.

This one with the shackle in the short position.
Image
The long position is for Cat.1, and the short for Cat.2.

I’m not sure of the object of this thread, stabiliser brackets or lift rods? Lots of random photos of back ends.
What’s FFCN?

My idea was to improve this site.
https://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/ffcn ... major.html
There are a few details that needed pointing out to have it as a reference site.
Basically this is about the check chain brackets, but I saw a small detail in the last pic on that page.

What’s FFCN?
FFCN stands for Ford and Fordson Club Netherlands.
The site of this club is no longer updated and we have permission to migrate the whole site to the Fordsontractorpages.
I'm still in the process of translating the site and update it whit some new things.

Feel free to take a visit to the mainsite
https://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/ and klick on FFCN and you will se what FFCN is.
Kind regards, Henk
