4wd fordson

Post by John b »

A friend got sent this photo today of a New Holland and trailer load of potatoes getting a helping hand. Any one know what the Major is? (We have no idea!)

These used to turn up regularly at auctions in the early 80s. I'm led to believe they were used to tension overhead pylon cables.

I think that's it, here's one in action along with many other Major's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmwrnqMMjyE 14:30-37:30. As far as I can see there's no 4wd, but that might just be I can't see well enough. Looks to be Power Major based, can't see well enough for more precise dating.
