This is my first post and thread on this forum, and it's about my 1978 4600 Four.
I just realised that I have allmost no pictures of it, and have to do something about it.
Anyway, here it is:

I'll definitely post more pictures as work progress on this tractor. I try to keep my threads in the way I like to read other threads. Pictures are important!Pascal wrote:Hi VonZu,
That's a really great tractor! I am quite a County fan and I really like this 4600-4.
More pictures would be great!
Yes, I am interested in a leaflet with the cab I have.Pascal wrote:
I collect County leaflets and have four leaflets of the 4600-4: two with the cab you have, one with the Duncan cab and one with the Ford Q-cab.
Interested in a copy of those?
Unfortunately I don't have the Australian versions:
That would be superbPascal wrote:I might have a small book with some drawings of the 4WD axle somewhere? Do you want me to search the book for you?
I don't know. I'll have a look next time I pop by the workshop.Pascal wrote:I know there are other 4wd conversions like Schindler and Selene. They all have their own characteristics.
Do you know the difference between these and your County?
Is the word "County" stamped on your front axle or on the drive shaft?
Thanks. That makes two of usPascal wrote:I hope you will find the parts you need.
Thanks Pascal! I just sent of a list to Mark Osborne, where I used your front axle drawing as reference. Thanks for the offer about the original pictures, but I have now started to search for the books themselves. It seems like it should be possible to get hold of some of them.Pascal wrote:Please send me a PM with your email address if you want these original pictures of the parts book: they are 8MB each, so you can zoom in on details.
I hope this will come in handy for you.
I have not gotten hold of any parts yet. Still waiting for a reply to my latest e-mail to Mark Osbourne. It's been a month now...Pascal wrote:How's your 4600-4 doing? Did you managed to get all the parts?
The 4WD system is quite different from the equal wheeled County. There is only one prop shaft going forward from a break out box on the left side of the rear axle. There is a handle that can be used to engage and disengage the front axle drive. This is located on the left side in the cabin.Pascal wrote:I have a question? Is with your tractor the 4WD permanent working, as with the equal wheeled County's?
Or can you turn the 4WD on and off?
May be easier giving him a call. Mark is not a computer-wizardVonZU wrote:Hello Pascal! Sorry for not paying proper attention to this thread. Busy with renovating living room and kitchenI now activated subscription for all my threads here...

I used the picture from this thread, and asked for a recommendation to what parts I should order for renovating the front axle.

Yup. Blocks all four. Having the 4WD engaged also severely impacts the turn radiusPascal wrote:Hi VonZu,
Thank you for the explenation about the 4WD-system. When 4WD is engaged, are the front wheels connected to the breaks too? So 4 wheel breaking, as on
the big wheelers?
Pictures will come in due time. A thread without pictures are too booringPascal wrote:Any detailed pictures of your great tractor would be great!![]()
