Hi,

my name is Matthias and I am glad I found this forum.
I am a farmer in Germany and was able to buy the tractor of my childhood dreams a couple weeks ago.

By reading my name, most of you guys know already what tractor it is: a 1966 County 654

I opend this thread, to talk a little about spareparts, and in the following time about restoring the tractor.

My basic goal is to finish the project for the 50 th aniversary of my County.

I already did some "plastic surgery "onthe tractor: took of the ugly roof and the "Heavy nose"......and the County looks even better.
This tractor was one of less than 100 Countys ever sold in Germany. I don´t have exact date by now, but it looks like there are less than 30, maybe 40 County tractors existing over here

The produktion date was Feb.17 th 1966, County number is 16251. The machine was licensed on one farm, only 80 km from our place, until 1989.
The motor probably hab problems by that time, so it was replaced and a guy bought the tractor for pulling just a few biger logs per year out of the forest. That was the reason for the heavy front weight.
He probably repainted the machine in a rather poor maner, fixed some wireing put an ugly but comfortable seat on and left the rest pretty much untoughed.

One driveshaft, on the left side, is missing but the rest is in really good shape.

Last weekend there was a nice vintage festival in the neighbouring village.
It is held every 3 years, but this time was the first possibility to share a tractor to the visitors.
