Perryshire Tractor loader

Post by Evos3960 »

Has anybody out there ever heard of a Perryshire tractor. I am led to believe that they were produced for the American and South African market and that it was based on the Ford 4000. I am looking at one which is supposed to be a 1977 but the 4000 finished in 1975. That's all I know. Is my information correct so far and can anybody help me with more info.

Many thanks to whoever can help

Would it have been from a complete 4000 or built on a skid unit ? if the latter it might have been held in stock for some time after the model was superceeded.

Google finds some references which may give more info

Thank you very much Rick I will keep looking. I don't know if it is a skid unit or not but I suspect it might well be.

Is it the eBay one you are interested in? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Ford-Perrys ... 2809054631

I had never heard of them either, but it looks nice, and being 1977 it will be built on a 4600, basically same as '4000 series', industrial spec with 8-stud wheels. It has a 4600 grille, if that's anything to go by.

Looks from here like it may have a torque-converter transmission - the brake pedals are on the right, but there doesn't appear to be a clutch pedal? Anyone have better eyesight than me? If so it will be a good loader tractor but not so good for field work (it has linkage/pickup hitch/trailer tipping connection).

A 3-cylinder equivalent of the County 11F perhaps?

The Fordson Tractor Pages. Built to be relied on.
