Newbie and rust preservative.

Post by rwray »

Hi guys, I'm new to the club and forum. I'm mainly into pre war fordson and i'm currently finishing off my 1918 Model F. The tractor has come from Canada and is totally original. Although there is barely a scrap of paint on her she has got a great patina and I wish to keep it like that. I'm trying to find something to prevent our wonderful english climate eating it away. I appreciate a good coating of diesel or oil will do the job but it's messy and you get covered in it everytime you touch it. I've looked up Morris Ankor wax and this seems to be the right sort of stuff but I was wondering if anyone had used it for a similar thing and if so how they got on. Or if anyone has got any other products they have found.

Many thanks
Richard Wray

I've used Dinitrol on my car successfully. Needs to be applied in warm conditions, so it creeps in nooks and crannies. Easier to work with than Waxoyl.
