engine id please
Hi, I am currently restoring my 1963 e27n Fordson super major which we have had on the farm for 40 years , which she has stood for approx 10 year of the later, Most of that time stood outside so unfortunately she took in water to the injector pump of which I have replaced with a second hand serviced unit and more concerning the engine which is current ly seized , I have so far removed the injectors and soaked the cylinders with diesel but she is still stuckfast I have also removed the sump to enable me to have a look ( not good ) I can see light rust in the bores of 1 & 4 , 2&3 are currently at the bottom of there stroke so the head has got to come off to reveal them but before I get any further into it I would like to identify the engine before I start ordering new parts, It is not the original , I can remember the original being replaced from a donor tractor my farther purchased because the liners had gone in the original the replacement engine was said to have been removed from a lorry that had been written off at the age of 6 months and had only been in the donor tractor for 2 years , It is different from the original as in the injector pump fixing had to be adapted to fit ( ie the pump seems to long ) so im hoping someone on the forum can help please ! The engine number on the rightside of the engine from sitting on the tractor is 530e 5340 there is also a number on the block above the dynamo that is p22a the head has number 0050013167 and the block behind the injector pump has 65 which I presume is manufacture date. Many thanks Farmer
Re: engine id please
If your engine came out of a lorry and has the number 530E it will possibly have all the same bits as a New Performance Super Major. A picture or two would be a great help.
You do not have an E27N by the way if you are sure it is a Super Major. the E27N is a totally different tractor that could be fitted with a number of different engines from a Perkins P6, a Perkins L4 or even one from a later E1ADDN.

Re: engine id please
That looks like a Power Major not a Super but the shots do not show the rear axle. Does it have disc brakes close to the axle housing? Can you get a picture of both sides of the engine?
