nosecone bolt size

Post by Kirbust »

My business partner insisted on replacing the nosecone as the original
was badly damaged when it was bought in 2012. I do not know whether
he misplaced some of the bolts or what happened but I need to know
all data for the 2 bolts that hold the back of the nosecone secure as I
can not find them anywhere, these 2 bolts goes one to each side of the
nosecone nearest the engine if you know what I mean, all data
means thread type, bolt length and everything about the 2
bolts in question please

Dear Kirbust

Sadly, these screws (not bolts, as the thread goes all the way to the head) are not listed in my Parts List, or I am not able to find them in the parts list. On my New Performance Major, there were 4 screws. Two at each side (the rear) and two across the front, one of which held a clip for the headlamp wiring loom (lights in the grille) If my memory serves me well, they were 5/16 UNC (Coarse thread into the front casting) and were 1/2 inch long. So the answer is 5/16" - 18 (UNC) x 1/2" hex head screw, if you want to keep it original.

Regards
