Hi all,
i'm storing my dexta over winter (under instructions from 'she who must be obeyed'-the tractor will damage the wet fields ), there is some deisel in the tank. Does deisel 'go off' (absorb water) like petrol does?
Is it common practice to drain fuel tanks if vehicles are unused for a while?
Thanks
Mark
deisel fuel 'going off'?
Re: Diesel fuel 'going off'?
White diesel keeps OK for several months, esp if it's in a sealed container with no air. Red diesel not so good.
Can you not run her every couple of months or so, maybe take her for a drive? Good idea to operate the hydraulics too, to make sure they don't seize up.
Fair comment about the wet fields; I use a quad bike whenever poss for that reason, but in all this rain even that chews it up some.
