Membership Car Stickers/Tractor Stickers?
Re: Membership Car Stickers/Tractor Stickers?
There is no way that we could agree to allowing the name or e-mail address out of our control, to be embroidered on items that would in fact, be in competition to what we have for sale. That would be an infringement of Oscar's copyright and would undermine what we are trying to achive.
Fordson Tractor Pages, now officially linked to: Fordson Tractor Club of Australia, Ford and Fordson Association and Blue Force.

Ambidextrous et al, I never thought this topic would have stimulated as much debate. Great to see. The 'I Love' design is free ware so work away with printing that. You have to take on board Brian and the founding members concerns re using the name of the forum.
I'm open to correction here but I can't see legally how there could be any implications for naming the site on for example an individual's tractor. As long as no one was selling anything with the forum name on it and profiting from it, or offering advice or a service claiming to be from the site, then surely exposure in this this way would not be an issue.
When you think of the amount of times football club names etc are reproduced and used without permission......
(I'm a member of a number of football forums etc)
Does this forum have an official logo?
If i get printed in white script; www.fordsontractorpages.nl and place this on the bonnet of my Dexta, to bring the sites attention to other entusiasts at various shows around Ireland, am I infringing anything? Or should i use only 'fordson tractor pages'
A lot of people seem to care passionately about this forum and wish to assist in anyway they can. I think this is extremely positive and it shows how much the site gives to enthusiasts and how much people wish to give a little back..........

It would appear from your comments, Brian, that the only acceptable way to improve your financial ability to further develop this forum is by the sale of merchandise. However, as W59D has pointed out, the availability of such is not readily recognized.
Two suggestions:
Change the heading 'FTP Products' to read FTP Merchandise - it's better understood.
Under your mortarboard and docs. logo why not show a teeshirt with the words underneath 'Merchandise Here', with the 'here' being clickable and leading to the site.
As for the car and tractor stickers suggested; whilst their design is decorative, they don't really portray the worth of this forum. I belong to a car club which did some research into the value of various types and it was found that a plastic strip of some 2x10 inches [50x250mm] with a small centre colour image and a few pithy words underneath, advertised the club and it's activities very well. So something like:
THE FORD TRACTOR PAGES
Keeps Me Going [for tractors]
and
THE FORD TRACTOR PAGES
Keeps Them Going [for cars]
And Brian, any chance in the future of a baseball type cap - much loved by John Deere drivers. The peak is good protection from sun glare and with a piece of cloth tacked onto the rear, as per the French Foreign Legion, provides good protection for the neck. Slapping on lashings of sun cream, as our [Ozzi] conquering cricketers are wont to do, makes one feel a bit of a prat. [Conquering cricketers?? Just wait 'till the next Ashes series!]
