Hi chaps,
Got back to England at 4am GMT this morning. Captain dd not even wake us to help get the boat into the dock, did it all himself, and very gently. We got onto the dock at 6,30am after a leisurely breakfast.
Not quite as leisurely as the one on Sunday morning though, that started at 8 am and finished at 11 am!!!
and after Jos and I had to put Henk to bed at 2 am!! I am sure some of the songs he was singing were not for mixed company.
We were on deck 9 in our cabin and the car was on deck 3. We packed our overnight case and went down in the lift only to discover that I had left the car keys on the cabin table. So at 6.25 am this morning I was climbing the stairs back to our cabin as by now the lift was jammed with people. I went both up and back on the stairs!!! As Henk will know, that was quite a feat as in April this year, I was having trouble walking up a short flight of steps to the restaurant where we have a meal, on the dockside. All due to a bad reaction to medication.
I will be writing a lot more about the show, I had hoped to keep a daily diary but the vagaries of Internet connections in hotels in both Holland and Germany has to be seen to be believed.
This is my only complaint out of a wonderful week over there. In England, for £20.00 I can buy a weeks unlimited Internet access in one of our smaller hotel groups that we use when traveling in the UK. In Holland and Germany, the first hotel was £14.00 for 3 hours, the second in Germany was "Please hand me your credit card and we will see if you have enough to buy an hour. Oh and we are not sure whether you can get and keep a wireless connection" and in Winterwijk it cost me nearly £30.00 for 1!/2 hours.
So that's why you got short answers

Glad to see you are both back safe and sound and had a good time. I'm jealous.
Looking forward to the pictures.
Are you sure the 'limited communications' were down to wireless connectivity and prices?
I'm told someone had a good night, in the bar, with friends and plenty of lubrication.
Woke in the night and not wanting to disturb the good lady, fumbled around in the dark, lifted the lid and gained relief.
In the morning, found they had peed all over their laptop

Mike,
That's a great story!!
Brian,
I am looking forward to your writing!
Henk,
I noticed the Ford Cargo engines at the Dutch auctionsite www.speurders.nl I prefer a Ford Trader-engine. But thank you for the advice!
I think that guy is still in 7th heaven!
Frans,
The wooden shoes were for my wife. But I think she will use them as decoration (flowers end so) instead of wearing.
The bonnet is the first step in the conversion from a 4 cilinder to a "6 men orchestra"!

I bought a pair of clogs!!
And wore them all evening and walking around on Sunday evening. Very comfortable and easy to wear!
Mine are the ones with leather uppers and I shall use them around the garden and workshop.

Even Janneke did not notice his song, so I was glad to lay down my head in Sara's bed...Brian wrote:....after Jos and I had to put Henk to bed at 2 am!! I am sure some of the songs he was singing were not for mixed company....

Hello,
Added the pictures of Meddo 2008 to my site. http://people.zeelandnet.nl/hmdetroije/
It's the same album but now with some text.
For those who want to see it, go to foto's and click on the picture at the top with the farmall.
I know some of you can't see the site well, but I'm still asking around for that problem.
