Steel Or Fibreglass replacement nose cone

Post by RossM »

I'm looking at getting a new nosecone for my super dexta as its original is beyond my skills to repair. I was talking to a young lad at a show a few weeks ago that had fitted a fibreglass one as the steel replacement one he'd bought first was a terrible fit and the fibreglass one fit better. I've tried to order a fibreglass one and the supplier said he'd stopped selling them as they weren't a good fit and he recommended a steel version.

Does anyone on here have further experience that might help me make a decision which to buy?

I am afraid that all the GRP nose cones I have seen leave much to be desired. They would not be fitted to any tractor that I own.

Metal ones are far better but do have fixing problems on some manufactures units.

Good second hand units are out there too. There was a Super Dexta cone in the adverts in Tractor and Machinery, this month.
