Do you have to split?

Post by roromac »

In order to do rings/big end bearings does anyone know if it is necessary to split the tractor or can the sump be removed safely. I fear the sump may be structural

If you are going to do mains and big ends it is shortsighted not to have the crank re-ground too. If you need one you need the other on these engines.

This would mean complete engine removal which is the easiest way.

That's what I feared I just didn't want to do a complete rebuild, just what was possible without splitting.
