super major hydraulics

Post by tommyo77 »

Hello, I am a newbie and I thank you all for the wealth of info available on your site. I have question about my super Maj. It has a different valve that is set up for two remotes. Only one is currently rigged. The valve has fo mo company and 1963 on it. I noticed in the manual the standard valve links to a spring loaded lever behind the three point hitch control. My tractor has the spring lever but there is no place to hook the linkage to the valve. Is this something that is needed for the draft control? I hope to do some plowing and can use the draft control feature. I am trying to figure how to post pics but have not figured it out yet. Thank you. :)

Those photos work. Looks like the control lever is missing a rod. It is a lot different than the valve on my tractor. Dave!

I think your right about the rod. I took the valve apart when I had the top off and the upper valve is sprung so it returns all the way out, there is no stop in the middle like the lower valve. It must be to modulate the draft/position control. I will find some clevis and make rod up and see what happens. Thanks! :D
