Handbrake ratchet, PTO guard, top instrumnt Panel etc swap

Post by Wee59dexta »

Hi,

I've got a new handbrake ratchet, PTO guard, plastic steering box covers and top instrument panel (Super D) to sell or swap.

I need the following items if you are interested in swapping, Part Ex, just let me know!

Standard 1959 Dexta handbrake lock (The type you push with your thumb, locks into the ratchet)

PTO cover (the one which covers the pto shaft)

Dynamo Guard

Fan Blade

Starter brushes guard

Headlamps

Temp Guage

Tachometer

Horn Button

If you have any of these for sale or are interested in a swap, please feel free to ask!

Thanks,

Will

Are you sure your Tachometer is clockwise? Dexta Tacho's run anti-clockwise.
I have a scruffy one if you want it.

Jerry,

I know whenever i've been looking at reproduction ones they are 90% listed as 'original dexta anti clockwise' but the one which I took off mine is definately clockwise. It is a smiths but whether or not this was a replacement part, I dont know.

It hadn't worked for years, infact my father never remembers it working. Would the tacho cable etc have to be different to operate a clockwise tacho?

I have seen one listed on ebay as a 'standard dexta clockwise tachometer' but i'm not sure.

Thanks for the offer, if i can find an answer i may be in touch! (An idea for a new topic me thinks)

The reason for the anti-clockwise rotation of the tacho is that the drive from the engine is off the Fuel Injector Pump and that rotates the same way as the crankshaft. The engine rotates clockwise when looking from the front.

Hi do you still have the rachet and if so would you be interested in selling it? I am looking for a rachet and paw for the old style handbrake that you flip the clip over with your thumb. It is off a 1958 Fordson Dexta.
Many Thanks

Old blue, I'm sorry but the handbrake ratchet I have is the only with the two bolts below the racthet, i think which fits the younger models. Sorry!
