63 Super Major

Post by theseeker905 »

Hi
I have what has been identified by some of you guys as a last of the supers (63) before NP and am looking to renew the rear wheels because a gorilla with tyre levers has ruined the rims on mine.

I have seen various types but does anyone have a photo of the type of wheels she should have?

also, is it right that you can use the same 8 lug rims for different hubs?

Thanks

They sure knew how to keep a rim in shape.

The inner plates you have are for a New Major. Power and Super had othere ones.
Kind regards, Henk

Me hates a Hammer Animal! (Try to say that Three times fast.) With some time and a little patients you can straighten the rims with the tires removed and a hammer and dolly. First, you have to be sure that the rims are not rusting badly from the inside out. Dandy Dave!

Thanks for the photo Steven. That is a cracking looking tractor, there's one in mine waiting to come out! plan is to start doing mine up after I fix the broken hydraulics and use it for haymaking.

as a foot note although I have no reg docs there is a number plate on the bonnet.
I put the number into the DVLA website and it came up as registered on 12th March 1962. Just need to fill in a B62 apparently.
