Re: liner groves
Hi Ww, I take it you have taken your major apart then? I dont know how to post links, but there are some threads about doing it. When I did mine, i got an engine re-build kit, which had pistons, rings, liners, valves and gaskets, (i had to buy the bearings separately). When I took the liners out they were knacked, all the way around one, there were tiny holes that had pierced the liners all the way through, which is where mine was leaking coolant. However sometimes the block rusts away where the o ring sits for the liner, luckily mine was ok. All i had to do was use a small mirror and a tiny wire brush to clean out the seal groove, then i used some silicone grease and put the new o ring in place.
If the block is rusted, Ive heard of people using things like chemical metal to build the surface up, but I dont know what results this produces, hopefully someone else who has done it has some ideas, or even better some pictures
