can anyone explain what the two different holes on the rocker for the top link are for, ie which one for ploughing and other ground engaging implements

Top one for increased sensitivity, bottom one for lower sensitivity of the lift in Draft control. Bottom one for ploughing unless wheel slip is a problem, top one can then be used.

Top one for light cultivation work like a spring tine harrow.

If using Position control it does not matter but I would tend to use the bottom hole.
