Define Vintage/Classic

Post by BarryT »

Hi guys,

Can anyone clearly define the dates for classifying Vintage and Classic tractors, there are various thoughts and dates being circulated that I'm not sure who or what to believe.

Regards,

I'm not sure that there is an official list for tractors. The terms are used rather loosely. With Automobiles it is a very different story as the CCCA has a list and requierments for a "True Classic". Dandy Dave!

I think I read somewhere that, with ref to UK ploughing matches, any type of tractor (and plough?) that was in manufacture before 1960 is Vintage- eg a 1961 Dexta is still Vintage.

Similarly tractors and ploughs in manufacture between 1960-1975 (pre Qcab) are Classic.
