Is it a Fordson Major Diesel? Fordson Power Major? Or a Super Major? I fitted an agriline harness to my Power Major which is a little different than the Super and I had to make several changes. If your gages are on top of the fuel tank and under the steering wheel you need the super harness. If you gages are below you need the FMD harness. I've done tons of wiring so it was not a big deal for me to install. Dandy Dave!

The diagram Shown is for the Power and Super. You need the other diagram for the FMD. You should have at least an amp and oil pressure gage mounted low. :needpics: Photos of what you have would help to sort it and get it right. Dandy Dave!

If you have no gauges or dash panels on a Major it is possible that you have no voltage regulator as this was housed in the lower dash panel along with the oil pressure, temperature and amp gauges also the light and ignition switch..

If you have a Power or Super Major then the gauges should be under the steering wheel and your steering wheel will sit about 6" above the fuel tank. Your light and ignition switch will be in roughly the same place as a Major but your regulator will be next to the air cleaner under the bonnet.

It would be a good idea to give us some clue on what you have like engine number or casting codes as the tractors had many changes over the years and you might not even have the right loom.

So basically you have no electrics what so ever on your Major. You need to give us more information and we can then advise on what you need to get. A wiring loom on its own is no good with nothing to connect it to.

Serial numbers can be found on a flat area on the right side of the engine above the Injection pump. Or some had a plate under the bonnet on the fire wall near the front top. The real early ones have the serial number stamped on the left bell housing around the area were the starter slides in. You may also have a Fordson ASP. (All Spare Parts.) Good luck with your #'s hunting mission Jamie. And may the Blue Force be with you. :D Dandy Dave!

You should have found these number above the injection pump. The motor at least is a Mark III and was built in April of 1959 and would have come in a Power Major. Dandy Dave!

If your tractor is all Power Major, the dash should look like this. Scroll down and you will see my tractor in a photo I posted. Dandy Dave!

Now we need photos and casting dates as I fear you have a Fordson ASP... Does it say "Fordson Major Diesel" on the side panels of the bonnet? Look here for Casting Code Date locations...
