Post by Kirbust »

I need to know how to adjust the clutch on my super major....this tractor has the double clutch system where
there is one for the pto and another for the gears all done through one pedal and what is the proper amount of
free travel supposed to be?

Hello

According to the "book", adjust the pedal free play to be between 1 1/2 in to 2 in. Adjust by loosening the locknut on the rod going from the clutch operating cross shaft to the balance lever, then remove the lower end of this rod from the balance lever, by removing the clevis pin. Turn the clevis on the rod to get the correct pedal free play.

After completing this adjustment, check that with the tractor running and with the PTO engaged, the PTO ceases to rotate when the pedal is fully depressed. If not, adjust the rod length to achieve this. Good luck!
