Dexta Starter

Post by tomsdexta »

I took the starter off my dexta Friday to freshen it up and I discovered that it may be more beneficial to replace instead of rebuilding. Has anyone tried the replacements sold on ebay? I know they aren't original but do they work as a replacement unit?

Rebuilt Starter

Post by Bensdexta »

Thomas,
I have the same dilemma.
It has been suggested to me that rebuilding your own starter is a good option.
Agriline will do this in UK or any good auto electrician.
See http://www.fordsontractorpages.nl/phpbb ... .php?t=653

Also this guy rebuilds them and sells kits:

Let us know how you get on.
Happy New Year,
Ben

Tom,
Find you a starter rebuild place, I'm certain there has to be one in your location with all the farming going on there. I had to rebuild mind years ago, and that's what I did.
If you can go to a machine shop or a big garage and ask them where one would be, I'm sure they can steer you in the right path.
See ya
