Another Raised PTO Q
Another Raised PTO Q
I've never run a raised PTO before and cannot seem to find any service instructions so this may be a really dumb question but ... Since there is a seal between the rear end and the raised PTO housing, do I need to add lubricant to the raised PTO housing and if so how much?

Re: Another Raised PTO Q
The bearing itself on the raised pto shaft is not sealed, so the oil will flow through the bearing into the raised pto housing. -> You do not need to add oil to the raised pto. Maybe 2 litres of oil will flow into the housing, so if you are percise, you might need to add a little bit of oil to the back end.

Thank you for your insight. I did, however, find out that the bearing isn't a seal as I evidently did not use enough Gaskaseal on the mating surfaces and have a minor leak.Spicklas wrote:The bearing itself on the raised pto shaft is not sealed, so the oil will flow through the bearing into the raised pto housing. -> You do not need to add oil to the raised pto.
