1. Removed all tape from harness starter to instrument panel.
2. E on regulator made ground new wire to chassis; for new wire I used Brown # 12.
3. Generator charge light would not work from any connection at regulator, despite charging schematics suggestions from old postive ground systems. Connected to assessory at key switch, which has voltage in run position. Light illuminates with switch in any run position (or ASSY) and without engine running. Start tractor, and light goes out. Fabricated new wire from regulator A to starter post. I used red # 12.
4. Ensured all wires ran thru insulator block at R/F instrument panel. Re-taped entire harnes panel to starter. Each "butt-connecter" was soldered to wire after crimp.
5. Adjusted A with wire disconnected from starter to 14.0 VDC. Connected wire and validated charging with load X 20 minutes.
6. Note: Removed old Dexta key switch. A Ford 2000-7000 key switch will not fit in old Dexta key hole. Will hit regulator. Drilled hole near R/F panel top mounting nut that panel securing screw L&R area. This is a custom modification, but there is limited space for other choices.
7. Key to choice of 2000-7000 key switch is separate switch connecter tab for key switch "start" to starter solenoid. I chose to use original "button" for glow-plug which operates in any run or assessory mode on key switch. Glow is an excellent way to apply load to system to verify charging rate and validated adjustments to regulator. Some original 2000-7000 key switches have reverse key direction, momentary switch option for glow plug, but new replacement switches do not. If you desire this feature use the Ford 1100-1900 compact tractor switches or like item.
8. Rewired yellow light wires #12 from old ground to assessory on key switch. Wires run thru original dexta light switch.
9 Time for job 4 hours. Need soldering iron, drill, round file, new butt connecters, wire (#12 for new A wire-3 feet) and #12 for ground E about 1 foot.) I connected Ground at panel screw near R/F panel mount screw. Ground wire comes thru square insulator.

Tractor poor, 59 Dexta, 61 & (3) 62 SuperDexta-s, 68 4000 Ford 4x4, 81 Ford 1100 4x4, 55-HD5G AC Crawler Loader, 1951 CAT D6 9U, 1967 160B Dynahoe backhoe and now a toy JD 850 4x4 loader compact.
Correction
Looked and checked "E" ground and "A" to starter. I used 10 gage not 12 wire. Correction.
