Oil bath filter - seal

About 7 years ago I installed a new oi bath filter on the super major, as the clamp was worn and the bottom part was beyond repair. It went with a V-type seal, but through the years it was always a pain in the ass to install and it never sealed well.
Today I got it apart and found the seal had come hard. I have been looking everywhere to find a replacement, bu since part number E243-CL-9 is not a standard, no luck so far..
I think I'm gonna try using an a simple o-ring that goes in the groove between the bottom part and the filter element and I hope the clamp will push it against all parts.
I will try these 2 sizes:
ID 145mm x 5mm
ID 145mm x 4mm
Anyone else tackled this issue before?

The repro filter looks a bit odd, the rubber you're referring to was only fitted to AC filters, Burgess types don't have a seal. We have similar issues occasionally, but normally fixed the AC filters by pushing them up hard before tightening the clamp fully. Not too sure how to tackle a Burgess filter but will let you know if I manage to fix one. The repro stuff I've seen looks like a poor copy of the Burgess type, which might explain why no seal was provided.
