Hi everyone,
My super major is fitted with a foot throttle that is linked to the hand throttle shaft. I have looked at the parts manual and it doesnt show anything other than a hand throttle.I am Wondering if any one has come across this set up before?

Yes, I've seen it on 3 different Majors over the past 2 years. Every one I have seen has been an 'after market' modification.

Rgds,
Mike

Mike,
Did you notice if the foot throttle worked independently to the hand throttle ie like a foot throttle in a car that returns to idle when released. where as the hand throttle can be set at a constant rpm.

Hand and foot throttle are related and you have to be careful. When you take your foot off the foot throttle the engine will only shut down to the position the hand throttle is set at.

Can be embarrassing

Hello 63super,

I have fit myself a foot throttle on my New Major. It works really well. Brian is right you have to be careful when driving both way's. Always keep the hand throttle at the lowest position when using the foot pedal, and when you use the hand version don't put your feet on the foot pedal. The system is different from the one with the hand throttle under the steering wheel, like yours. I have seen the same system at the show at Panningen this summer. Maybe the guy saw it on my site, or we have made the same system without knowing one another. It can be reversed back to original.

Regards Henk
