Hi all. I'm one of those Canadians who claim to own a petrol (gas) Ford Dexta, although they were not supposed to be exported to Canada. My Dexta is one of the earlky ones, with the headlights externally mounted on the front grille. My old gal does not have an auxilliary fuel tank, but it does have a differential traction lock mechanism. She also has a rather tired engine (I was amazed to be able to compress the valve springs by hand!). I am in the midst of a rebuild and I do not have any manuals or engine specs, other than those in the operator's manual. I wonder if anyone has the following information for the Standard petrol engine? Crankshaft journal standard sizes, both mains and rods? Does anyone make or can source 1 to 2/1000 oversize journals? Valve spring compression tension pressures, intake and exhaust? Does anyone make or can source new valve springs? Are there substitute springs that can be used? Valve train clearance settings? If anyone can help me out I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks.IP: Logged |

The general specifications of the petrol Dexta are on this site (click here) but the info you seek isn't listed there. I'd advise you to read through the information about the petrol Dexta in the Q&A section of this site (click here) and to send emails to Mark Pugh and Donald Provost (Donald is a fellow Canadian and he's totally revising his petrol Dexta). Email addy's are included. Good luck!IP: Logged |
