Hallo,
Does anyone know how to recognize the right Lucas Generator for Fordson Dexta.

I have found some digits:
LUCAS
227 15H
34029
LRD 100
22715 23/80/B

My generator works sometimes, sometimes not. Maybe the generator is the fault, but it could be the control box.
First of all, i want to know if it is the right generator, maybe the generator and control box simply can't work together.

Johan,
your Dexta is fitted with a 22 Ampere generator. The standard type was a 11 Ampere generator. The original generator was a Lucas LDR101. Stefan

Well...
I think my control box is about original. At least it seems to be, but i don't know how to check that (by digits, letters or codes) either.

Do you think i have to change the generator, or can it work together with the control box?

There is very tight space around this generator.
My generator are about ø101,6mm (4 inch) outside diameter.
Are LRD100 increased outside diameter, in comparsion to LDR101?

(My control box have four connections (D, E, A, and F.)

Johan,
A 22 amp generator will work OK with an 11 amp regulator. Its an 11 amp dynamo with a 22 amp regulator that causes problems. There is no difference in the size of the Lucas 21 amp and 11 amp. the 11 amp has a closed brush plate the 22 amp has a ventilated one. I don't think 11 amp units are available any more.

If you have the old style regulator it will be 11 amp. They did not make a 22 amp one until the '000 series and then it was the later type.

Today i have solved the problem.
I have bougt a new control box, changed and tested it.

Now my generator works just fine.

Control box:
LUCAS
12V / 22A
NCB 130
RB 340

Generator:
LUCAS
12V / 22A
227 15H
LRD 100

This control box is fitted onto the plate called "957E-9097", instead of onto the cover "957E-11871" as describes in the manual.

It is fitted with two 2 1/8" (54mm) long screws, diameter ø3/16" (ø4,8mm).
Between the control box and the plate (957E-9097) there is distances ø1/2" (ø12,7mm), length about 7/8" (22,2mm).
