According to my owners manual there are wheel weights for the rear wheels aviable (usually three pairs of them).

There are one type for the inside, and annother type for the outside.
But the spare parts manuals don't tells me anything about this.

One of my spare parts manuals (F001566/1063) tells me:

957E-1065-A WEIGHT (REAR WHEEL) 11/57/63/6 QTY.2

957E-1076-A WEIGHT (AUXILIARY REAR) 11/57/62/4 QTY.4

Annother of my spare parts manuals (F00-1566-D) tells me:

960E-1065-A WEIGHT (REAR WHEEL) 57/64 QTY.2

960E-1076 WEIGHT (AUXILIARY REAR) 11/57/62/4 QTY.4

E24-HA-9 SPACER (REAR WHEEL WEIGHT) 6/63/ QTY.6

Now, I have some questions:

  1. What's the difference between those two types (new/old type)?
  2. How do I recognize the weights is for the inside and which ones to be fitted to the outside?
  3. Are these weights marked with article numbers, so they can be recognized at a scrap yard?
  4. What are those "spacers" used for, and why don't they be needed on the old weight type?

Johan,
this is the information I found :

960E 1065A : inner weight (#2) : 57/64 All exept Power adjusted
957E 1065B : inner weight (#2) : '57..05/'63 - with Power adjust
960E 1065B : inner weight (#2) : 06/'63 till end - with Power adjust
E24-HA-9 : Spacer (#6)
960E-1076 : auxilliary weight to wheel (#4)
115778-ES2 : Bolt, Auxilliary weight to wheel (#6) Power adjust
118850-ES2 : Bolt, Auxilliary weight to wheel (#12)
45818-S2 : Bolt, weight to wheel (#6)

And the reason why some things are used can be found in the Owners Manual :
REAR WHEEL WEIGHTS
Each cast iron weight is approximately 80 lb. and normally three weights per wheel are sufficient for most agricultural conditions. The inner weight which bolts directly to the wheel differs slightly from the auxiliary weights, being shaped to accommodate the dish of the wheel disc. It is secured to the wheel by three nuts, bolts and spacers, the prevented from turning by flats on the spacers. If additional weights are required it is necessary to install the three mounting bolts before bolting the initial weight on to the wheel disc. If still further weight is required adopt the same procedure ensuring that three bolts are assembled to the preceding weight. In the case of power-adjusted rear wheels the inner weight is bolted to the weheel disc in a similar manner but the spacers are welded to the wheel disc and the bolts are prevented from turning by a tongue on the head of the bolt locating in a slot in the spacers.

Regards
Jos
