Kent,You have a Basildon, England built Ford 3000, built December 6th 1965 by the afternoon shift. The M155 is the transmission date code and gives December 15th 1965. The C5nNN numbers mean nothing at all. They are the casting mould numbers and are the same for all tractors of that type. The identification numbers on these tractors are always stamped into the metal. Ford were operating a "world tractor policy" at this time and tractors could be built in Highland Park, Basildon or Antwerp. ------------------ Kind regards Brian IP: Logged |

Brian,Thanks for the confirmation. That is what we thought, but were confused by the Super Dexta decals on the cowl under the steering wheel and the 3000 decal on the front cowl. The parts numbers listed on websites selling parts for the 3000 Ford do not appear to match any part number we find on the tractor. We were looking to replace the wiring harness and voltage regulator along with the instrument panel. Kent ------------------ Kent IP: Logged |

The Ford 3000 was called the Super Dexta when it first came out over here. Ford used the name of all the British designed tractors that were known throughout the world to try and maintain sales.2000 Dexta, 3000 Super Dexta, 4000 Major, 5000 Super Major, It was not until 1968 when the Ford Force tractors came out that they dropped the old names. The numbers you find on the tractor are not part numbers. Ford did not work that way it was too simple. ------------------ Kind regards Brian [This message has been edited by Brian (edited July 14, 2006).] IP: Logged |
