Did you use the lunk on the main page? We moved the wiki to another host.
This is the problem.
When you visit the wiki via the main site all will work.

Re: Great news - Update

Is there a way to stop being logged out when I'm half way through writing a post? This has happened a few times now and I've lost everything I've typed :curse: Mike, As far as I can see there are no limits to the time when writing or editing a post. So I don't understand where and why this problem ...

Re: Great news - Update

Annoying.

We have to search for that.

Just a tip, you could select and copy your text after a short period, and when you are loged out start again and paste the text directly in your post.
You could wright in Word and copy and paste it in your post.

Or just type faster. Just kidding.

Re: seal H/L shifter

As you say try to find a bold.
The only thing that can be wrong is that the sqaure bold is not secured by the steel cord an the selector is not in the right place.
If you can, it's best to remove the unit as I did and check everything.

Re: Suspected Fuel Pump trouble

There are two ways to mount the pump. If it is on time, the engine will start. If the engine does not start, the pump is turned 180 degrees. Best is to make a mark with a center punch befor removing.

Re: Primary gearbox stuck in high

That's right Mathias. Leeroy, It's a common problem. Take it apart and clean it. Look for sharp edges or dents in both the woodruff key and holes and file them away. Check the threads. Put it back together. Feel when the woodruff key falls deepest into the hole by moving the handle up and down and t...

I know the vacuum governed pump needs no oil it uses the leak diesel to grease. Don't know if your pump needs oil.

Re: Starter motor whine and overheating

Good news.
Do you have a volt meter?
Load the battery. Put it on the right poles and start. When the Voltage is going under de 10V while starting its moost likely that the battery is bad.

Re: Major restoration

All Majors for the Super had this rattling sound. It was characteristic because of the pertinax coupling. The later Supers had a sort of rubber and was much quieter. An employee of a dealer once told me that he had spent hours looking for the cause of a badly running Major. In the end, the coupling ...

Check the coupling from the dieselpump and the timing. Sometimes its not tight enough and changes the settings.

Do you use the tractor a lot? Maybe it's caused by standing still too long?
Mathias,
I think you nailed it. Thats why I wont a Viton. Seems to last longer.
I don't fancy it doing the job every two or so years.

Re: Crank Pulley Removal Tool (home made!)

Nice tool.

I have done the job two times. Last time i put a speedy sleeve on it. Now two years later it's leaking again.
Now I'm trying to find a Viton seal for it, but have not found one yet. Looks like there are none for this size.
Anyone who has a tip?
