Power drops

Post by RACDEXTA »

Hello

can anyone help, after solving my overheating while using my new flail-mulcher by fitting a fan cowl and giving the rad. a good blow through I went to work with the flail again. For about 40 mins everthing was fine but then gradually she started to loose revs and after 5 mins I had to stop. Now I think it good possibly be the fuel filter or more accurately I hope it is just the fuel filter. There doesn't seem to be any other symptoms. Could anyone give me confirmation or a clue?

Regards Rob

sounds like a fuel problem, i'd go down that route first, possibly air filter could be dirty? i'd check them first before getting in deeper!!
sometimes you need 4!!!

Hi rob, check the flow rate from the tap, some second market taps do not flow freely particularly the pump type. Perhaps someone might know what the flow rate should be.

Thankyou for your replies, I have got a reproduction primer pump/tap and it is very poor. I replaced the fuel filter and had a look at the tap by unscrewing it out to find what looked like cow hair bunged up in it. It seems that this has cleared it but I fear the problem will return unless I drain and clean the tank, regards Rob
