stuck Major hand brake

Is there a quick way to free off the hand brake plates my neighbours got one that's jammed up

Ben,
There is no easy way. You can try going in through the gear selector plate and, with a long chisel/bar try forcing them apart, but the only real way is to split at the clutch and draw the gearbox out after dropping off the PTO.

I thought that was the case I may suggest going through the selector plate as it's got to be moved and we were going to drag it with his jcb and get parked up by his workshop
