i have managed to remove footplate and brake pedals from my diesel major so i can renew seal on cross shaft,
i am having touble removing the key from the shaft is there a specific way of doing this?
i have tried force but i am damaging the key.

No special way.
I would put some creeping oil on it. With a screwdriver and a hammer gently try to move it. Once it moves it easy to work it out. Damaging a bit is not so bad. File it before you put it back. Check your bushes while the sealing is out.
Please would you give me the measurement of the seal. I'm planning to make a list of all the seals so one could easily order a new one.
