Problems changing gear

Hi All

I have a problem changing gear on my FMD. Sometimes it
changes really smoothly and sometimes it is quite stuck. I have to
do a lot of wiggling to get it into gear. I took off the casing
around the gear stick and noticed that the gearstick was worn
a bit at the end. Would this cause the problem?

If this is not the problem where would I start looking? Would I need
to split the tractor to get to the gearbox?

Hi Dominic. Do a search of previous posts. I believe Brain posted some pictures of the end of the shifter and how he corrected the problem. I hope to take the shifter out of the parts Major and put it in my Power Major, the one in the Power Major will spin around. I will try to take pictures.
