Is this really a Dexta and what engine does it have?
Looks like a 4 cylinder with pump on the right side?

Fordson Dexta?
Dexta ASP! Someone looks to have fitted a Major engine. The bonnet has an extra detail. Can't see how they got the starter into the clutch housing.
There are some strange tractors in France, the dealers modified a number but that one is very interesting. Ford were looking at a small Major at one time, wonder if it could be an escaped prototype.

Hello,
How easy is fitting a Major engine into a Dexta, does the engine fit to the clutch housing?
That would be a nice conversion, when you have a Dexta back end and a Petrol TVO fordson engine,.....................

Hi
There has been a 6 cylinder dexta conversion either in classic tractor or vintage tractor and machinery a few years ago i think a younger kid who's dad was a contractor built it .
I seem to remember that the bonnet was a pain to do as the dexta one is tapered and you cant weld 2 together to get the extra length like the major. I think he had fun with the clutch as he had to make a dummy flywheel and all the adapter plates and support the front axle. Generally I think it took an age and a good chunk of a few pay cheques
.
Regards Robert
