Try Grace Poppelwell of the Ferguson Club, she deal with all makes of tractors and is on the DVLA’s list of vehicle owners club. Her contact number is 01673 844990. If you phone her she’ll tell you what you need to provide her with, she doesn’t have email.
For £20 she’ll verify your tractors age and fill in the relevant paperwork for you to take to your local DVLA office along with a cheque for £55 payable to the DVLA.
For £45 plus the DVLA’s cheque, she’ll do the lot for you.
A very nice lady who knows her stuff.

Got my paperwork back from Grace within a week of posting it to her and took it to my local DVLA office this morning.
I wonder how long the DVLA will take? They were quite good when I registered my Fregie.

Got a letter from the DVLA yesterday informing me my Fordson has already been registered on a “Q” plate and I need to complete a form V62 and submit back to them. The DVLA will then contact the last registered owner to confirm the sale before issuing me a V5C and giving me an Age Related Registration Number for my tractor…
This could take up to 6-weeks
:
I'll be knocking on the DVLA's local office with completed form in the morning

I don’t think you’ll need to surrender the original log book, have a chat with Grace of the Ferguson Club, she’s very good at sorting thinks out and if need be will speak directly to the DVLA on your behalf.
I’m just having a bit of a problem with my Fordson’s registration, apparently it’s been registered on a “Q” plate at some time. I’ve been through to my local DVLA office at Beverley this morning to make sure I’d completed the V62 form correctly. The DVLA will now contact the last known registered keeper to verify it's no longer owned by them before they issue me with a V5C Registration document for the tractor on its “Q” plate. I’ll then be able to tax it and use it while the application is being processed for the “Age Related” registration number.

You can keep the log book. I have Henrietta's original, they just stamp it and return it.
Funny thing about "Q" plates.
I wanted the original reg number for her when she was on a "Q" plate. They de-registered the plate and told me I should never have been issued with one on a motor vehicle that had been registered in this country and was of a known type and age. Should have gone straight on to an age related plate.

Yep Brian, I’ve had something similar with an old motorbike. It seems to be anything that’s not been updated on the DVLA’s database prior to 1983 is lost.
So for example if you’ve got a 1974 vehicle with the last tax disc dated 1980 for instance the DVLA have no record of it, you will need to re-register it. But if you do have the registration documents then they will honour them.

Got a letter today from the DVLA regarding my tractor registration and telling me the “Q” plate number that it is registered on and advising me they will issue me a V5 on the 10th November (but I must allow a further 5 days for the post).
I’ll update this thread as I go through the process of changing this to an age related registration number.

My V5c for the "Q" Registration number arrived Saturday and Tuesday saw me at the local DVLA office collecting my tax disc and then applying for an "Age related" Registration number.

So Friday the 19th saw me putting the “Q” plates on Jack and the trailer then driving down to the village to collect some slabs at the end of our street. While I was loading them, I saw out local postie pushing mail through our letter box…
…one of the letters was my “Age Related” registration number
