Vapormatic Blocks for Dextas

Has anyone fitted one of their blocks, or any other companies other than Agriline, to their tractor?

What was your opinion and how much did you have to modify?

Those are the ones. They again, specify the same block for Massey and Fordson which is not correct. Or do they tell you how to modify it to fit the Dexta range?

I want some idea of how they approach the problems of the 3.152 Perkins block being fitted to a Dexta.

Brian, am sure you have a reason for your question, My thoughts would be , and i aint sure wether or not these blocks are actually Perkins blocks or Simpson blocks made in India. . But i would'nt think there would be much need for many blocks for Dexta's , So most would be for MF 35's and MF 135's with rope seals. and all the other applications for the 3.152 motor.
So in most cases the blocks would be along the lines of Perkins, as opposed to the Fordson cum Perkins, therefore you would'nt have a lot of trouble to fit that block in a Dexta, would just mean a blank plate for the lift pump and the Taco drive, unless you went to the trouble of fitting a taco drive and a shorter flexi drive. Brian ,you can see lol that i am not one for originallity, myself Jim.

It seems there are problems fitting aftermarket blocks. That is why I am trying to find out if all suffer from the same faults when it comes to fitting them to Dextas. So that everyone is aware of the changes that they will have to make if they have to fit one.

The 3.152 was used in a range of tractors including MF, Nuffield/Leyland/Marshall, and IH, and the aftermarket blocks seem to fit these OK without the sort of problems you get when fitting one to a Dexta.

Brian, interesting as it is to read your comments and views (and from others) i am interested in your line "without the sort of problems you get when fitting one to a Dexta", (Diesel). Have to say i dont think me personaly will come across this point, but with an interest in Fordsons, i would like to know.
For example is there instances of cases where the block wont fit, and we are talking Rope Seal and not Lip Seal where i can see there my be a problem.
There would only seem to be the Backplate mounting , the sump carries the axle, Comments from anyone please, Jim

From personal experience of trying to fit a 'MF35/Dexta' new block, apart from the camshaft issues there is the main, very frustrating one of a larger than dexta engine rear main bearing block fouling the Dexta sump.

Jerry, thats probably one of the things that causes problems.
I had a flick down Argiline, under MF and checked out the motor item 7273, and the rear Main cap sure does look different to the one on my Dexta engine, and it is a Rope Seal. So, how did you over come the issue of it fouling the sump.
