injsector pump

Post by super6 »

i have just bought a super major, it has got had the inj pump removed as it would speed up on its own when hot, the people selling say its been looked at by a engineeer and that the pump is broke.
the engine has the FL head are the pumps the same on this engine as the early supers.
getting it home on the weekend will post some pics then.

If it is an FL head then it should be a Minimec pump. If so, then it has a mechanical governor that might be fixable. It will not have a diaphram like the earlier pumps.

i was thinking about a repair it was just that the last owners mechanic said it was no good.
i would think any problem on a pump should be fixable, so will try this first.
