square axle

Post by benji »

hello everyone

i just bought a lift for my fm, but one of the lift arms is broken. i searched for some new ones but mine has square holes for the square lift axle and the new ones are round for a spline axle. Is this an original fordson lift?

thanks for the help

A picture of the lift would help, it sounds like you have a Super Major shaft fitted so you will need Super Major lift arms.

Hi It sounds like you have an ordinary major or power major Tractor to have the square shaft. The later super major style tractors had the round shaft with fine splines in the arms and a totally different style top.
I have seen these round shaft arms listed on a certain parts site as fitting all majors but they don't its only for the super major. you may have to try and find used parts as Im not sure if the square shaft arm is available from new if thats what you need .
