I'm working in my spare time on my Fordson Major 1954. When i bought the tractor, it ran actually very good, but it was leaking oil everywhere and it produced thick clouds of white smoke.
I started opening up the engine and found the problem quite fast. Seems like at some point in time cilinder 3 took on water, and quite a lot too because the force of the engine bended the connecting rod when fired up!
So now i'm stuck and have two options, find me a new connecting rod or get it straightened out. I would go for a new one, but i can't seem to find one, not even after 3 weeks of intensive searching the internet. Does anyone have an idea where i can get one?
Connecting rods
Re: Connecting rods
Hi, have you tried Ron Greet tractor breakers ?! In Devon ?! They might have and engine breaking- (01803) 812269. Maybe worth a try as I don't think you can get them new anymore !! So salvage is best option
