I was thinking now we have got all this snow what kind on snow plow are you using???

Pics would be best...

im thinking about building a hitch in the front and use the loader frame to take the force to fit a snow plow like this

I use my Massey 30D Backhoe Loader to move snow. It has a full cab and a heater and works like a dream no matter how deep the snow is. With the loader, I can lift it and pile it If I need to. Tire Chains are a must. I have not been stuck where I could not get myself out yet as you can always pull yourself out , or get the rear back on the road if neccesarry with the back hoe. I have plowed with large farm tractors in the past, Big FWD trucks, 4WD pick ups, Bulldozers (They like to slide on ice.) And been stuck with everyone at one time or another. Nothing compairs to this well ballanced little backhoe. Dandy Dave!

When i bougth the super major the loader was taken off ... but the frame for it is still on the tractor, and it is very heavy and bolted on the back axel

I was thinking on making a 3pt hicth on the frontplade and using loader frame to take the force from impacts

Do you know were to get chains fro the back tyres?? i wonder if i can make some myself, just buying some chains and make a assembly do you have any pictures of yours??

About the backhoe do you have some pictures of that ??? im thinking on building one myself, with a sub frame mounting

Tire chains are available at most tractor dealers. The best are double ring type.

A subframe mounting is a must, and a back hoe that has enough snot to lift the back of the tractor is neccesarry. My Camera has been acting a little blinky lately. Will try and get some photos later if it straighten up. Other wise a new one will be on the Christmas List. Dandy Dave!

I have made a rear mounted snow plow this year. yet to find out how well it will work Ill have to post pictures at some point.
rest of the year it will be a grader blade if I remove the rubber strip.

The whole grader blade is made from recycled parts. It is made from 5" by 3" Channel nice and heavy and dont think its going to bend. the weight certainly helps with traction. can reverse up the steep hill without any problems.
The blade is made from a section of galvenised water bouser. I will paint it up when I get chanace.

But if i was u, i would put a hydralic cylinder on the turn over, instead of jumping of the tractor when you want to adjust i could be our next project

Nice use of water bouser to the blade, how thick is the blade is it bending when you force lot of snow on it

the blade is about 4-5mm thick. havent noticed it bend yet. I havenet found I need to cimb off very often I use it to push snow to the kerb 95% of the time so it stays set one way. I did design it with the possibility of hydraulics in mind. not sure I can justify the cost of hydraulics atm. did think a hyd toplink would fit nice though then I can use the top link as normal rest of the time.

In snow you may not see the blade bend. If you hook on something solid like a rock, or tree stump, you will. You should have some vertical ribbing behind the blade. Look at a commercial Snow plow blade and you will see what I mean. Dandy Dave!

I did originally plan to put extra bracing on the blade but found after testing it I didnt need it. might get round to it if it becomes a problem.

Looks like we are in for a lot more snow in the morning though!

Nice , how high snow can it take before the tractor spins??

With low range, small gear and diff lock on it still goes in 30cm snow. If the snow is wet, then it is much harder
