New forum posts no longer in bold type

Up until a few weeks ago, when ever there was a new post, it would be shown in bold type. Once I read it, the topic title would go back to normal font. Lately that hasn't been happening, and I'm losing track of what I've read and not read. Is this happening to others, or is it just my computer? I haven't made any changes to my computer, so I don't know what it could be. Any ideas anyone?

Are you sure you are logged in the the site? You can read the threads without being logged in. I cleaned the cookies off my computer and it quit logging me in automatically, and I had the same trouble keeping up with what I had read. Up at the top of the screen, in the white area, you should see your login name if you are logged in.

G'day Aldo,
I don't know if topics are supposed to be "bold" (or dark) text until read or not. Coincidentlally, I had sensed that something like that had happened a week or so ago. I found at the time, I was no longer logged in for some reason and had to log in again. Not that that has made the text bold again for unread topics.

Tip:
You can access the topics in two different ways. Directly from the list of forums in the index page where the forums with new posts will have an Orange coloured icon to the left. NOW, instead of clicking on each Forum and having to return there to look into the next Forum with a new post, just go up to top of the forum page and on the right hand side in small print there is a link that says, "View Posts Since Last Visit". Clicking that will bring up a new page with ALL of the posts from ALL of the forums that are new since the last time you visited. Much simpler than just using the Forum index page.

I think that whether an unread post is in bold or not, has something to do with your computer or browser and not the BB. If I read a topic on one computer and then log onto the board on a different computer, the orange icon will be gone, but the topic is still in bold type. If I log off and then log back on with the same computer, the bold type will be gone.

that's what I was thinking, something to do with my browser has changed, maybe a recent update has messed things up.

Hi Aldo,

It could be something to do with the history settings on your browser. If you clear the history all the links come up bold. I can't figure out how all the links could come up as not bold though. Just my two cents worth. Let us know if you figure it out.

I didn't figure it out Frank. But I did as you said, cleared the browser history, and now all the topics are bold again. That's good, now I can start afresh.
