Fuel pump
Fuel pump
How do I correctly install the fuel pump? I replaced the block to pump gasket as it was leaking oil, and now the fuel bowl won't fill. I double checked everything and all is correct. Yes there is fuel in the tank and I turned the valve on. Thanks in advance!
Re: Fuel pump
It may be stating the obvious -- but check that fuel is reaching the inlet side of the pump.
Then try opening the bleedscrew on the filter and use the pump priming lever -- this should then fill it and allow you to bleed the rest of the system.

Re: Fuel pump
Unfortunately the pump is an aftermarket piece that came with the tractor and has no bleed lever. And I am getting fuel through the line from the tank to the lift pump. Everything worked until I pulled the pump to replace said gasket.

Re: Fuel pump
You have to pump the lift pump and open the first bleed screw on the diesel filter. Then the second screw on the filter and then the bleed screw on the diesel pump. If it still does not work, try to trun the rotation of the diesel pump 180 degrees. Use the cold start when you try.
