Super / Dexta Nose Cowlings

Post by Bensdexta »

Can someone please confirm that Super and Standard Nose Cowlings are identical 'below the join'?

I think I read somewhere of someone who repaired his standard Dexta cowling by bolting on the bottom from a Super D.

Many thanks,

Ben

Hello Ben

It might have been my post that you read. I did the opposite to what you 're asking by placing a Dexta bottom onto the Super Dexta top. To me it looks alright but whether Brian will agree I don't know. What I will do is forward Brian a picture or two and kindly ask him to put them up for viewing. Unfortunately it has only been painted with undercoat but see for yourself if you think they match well enough for your purposes.

Kind regards
Mervyn

Hello Ben

I have emailed 2 pics off to Brian. Those are earlier pics of the effort looks a bit messy but it will give you an idea. When I get back home from work later I will try and get you a more later pic.

Mervyn,
Many thanks - I thought it might be you! How did you join the two halves? Weld, bolt....?
Ref posting pics on here, I use photobucket. It's free, you just register then you can upload your pics to photobucket website and then copy the link [IMG] into you post on here and then up comes your pic in your post. :)

Thanks for your help,
Ben
