not been on here for a while progress has been abit steady as of late due to work comitments, i had a spare this afternoon and im trying to change the bearing on the end of the pto shaft, but there is this sleeve on there im gueesing its a heat stunk job to get it on there. IS there an easy way to get the thing off so i can replace the bearing??
ahhh i will have to go and ask my friend nicely if i can borrow his im working outside and have very little in the way of workshop tools.. except a big hammer of course
thats a nice press there i went and bought a 20ton press and been pressing that collar but still cant get the bugger to move i had 10 tonnes of pressure of it and the bearing blew up and went everywhere!
So i could get the plates underneath proberly to press it, but ive put around 8-10 tons on that collar and she still wont budge! ??
You could try applying some serious heat (eg oxy/propane) quickly to the collar and then try pressing again. If that doesn't work, you may have to cut the collar off and have a new one made. The original was probably heated and shrink-fitted onto the shaft. You'd have to do the same with the replacement.
