Interesting machine! I do like those front skis!
I've seen those tracks on Dextas.
Is that a crane you have on the back?

Its a 3 ton winch on the back. I think there were a boom available to use if for a kind of crane (for loading a timber trailer).

Re: Ferguson 35
yes, 3 ton is what it's rated for. This was a typical forestry setup in Norway, before the larger tractors were availble.Bensdexta wrote:Will she pull 3 tons? Handy for logging!frode wrote:Its a 3 ton winch on the back.

Thanks! Everything was made in Norway, I guess in the 50's. The halftracks are a copy of the canadian "bombardier". We have them for the Major tooBearCreek Majors wrote:Sweet ride Frode! who makes that kit, Iv'e seen them on a few other tractors as well.

Re: Ferguson 35
Yes, I have never seen front skis! Mainly because, there isn't any snow in the Philippines, just cold weather on december to january.
I think the skis would come in handy if you don't want to replace the front bearings!
What did the Super-4 and the "other fergie" do at the back of the 3rd pic?

Now that's real cool, literally. I must remember to gaze at your pics tomorrow whilst we are sweltering in 35 to 40C heat -- it might cool me down a bit.
But tell me, how are the front [bogey] wheels attached to the tractor? Try as I might your pics 4 & 5 don't appear to show any axle.

The fergie is a TEF diesel, and I am fitting halftracks and trading for a 62 super major

Re: Ferguson 35
Helped my neighbour in the forest today
Here's one of the halftrack setup. The hub for the ekstra wheels are mounted eccentric on the beam running forward from the rear axle. The spring then pulls the wheel forward and down at the samt time (tightening the tracks and taking some weight of the front wheels). You need good brakes for a setup like this. When pulling logs you wont have much weight on the front wheels, and steering with the brakes becomes mandatory
