Air pre filter problem

Post by major m »

Hi all, just a heads up if you have bought or are thinking of buying a pattern part pre air filter( little dome shaped thing on top of the air filter) make sure the openings are big enough to let in enough air. As I found out by chance today the one I bought was restricting the performance by restricting air flow. I went out for a little drive forgetting to put on the pre filter after a good service and found it was flying along until I replaced the pre filter then it went like a snail again. Checked the old pre cleaner and found much bigger intake slots, got out the screw driver bent the fins open and hey presto a speedy tractor again.
Hope this helps someone
