does anyone have the correct procedure to remove the proofmeter from the instrument box. not sure what to do... Thanks... any photos would be helpful....
Re: super dexta instrument box
First disconnect the drive cable from the back of the fuel pump.
Then unbolt the lower inst panel from the rear fuel tank support, and move it rearwards; hopefully there's enough slack in the electric cables.
Then undo the knurled nuts on the proofmeter clamp behind the panel, remove clamp and the proofmeter and its shroud will pull out of the panel. Either remove it complete with drive cable attached or unscrew the cable nut from the proofmeter. Should be fairly straightforward.

As Ben says but I find it easier to just remove the gear selectors as it gives you more room.

And while you have removed the gear selectors, take a look at the balls on the lower end of the levers to see if they are worn. If so you can build them up with weld and regrind them.
